Ophthalmologist and Optometrist

An Ophthalmologist is a medical doctor (M.D.) or an osteopathic physician (D.O.) specially trained in the medical and surgical care and treatment of the eyes.

An Optometrist is a doctor of optometry (O.D.) who has graduated from a four-year optometry school. Optometrists provide primary vision care ranging from sight testing and correction to the diagnosis, treatment, and management of vision changes.
